Default 2008 Ltz 400 cooling fan won’t come on and temp light does

Hello. I had an issue about a month ago where my cooling fan wasn’t coming on and the temp light came on. I pulled out the fuse and replaced it as it popped and all was good. Was riding tonight and the lights came on again with no fan. This time the fuse is good. Any other thoughts?
thanks.

Don't know the LTZ but Eigers etc, have two temp sensors, one for the light and one for the fan, check the fan circuit by jumping the wires to the fan sensor with ignition on, and see if the fan works, if it doesn't or blows the fuse, your fan is faulty, or the wires to it. If the fan works OK fit a new sensor.

Thank you. Headed out to try in a few. It was strange the temp light came on only after riding for snot 10 minutes. And most was riding with the air flow. Wondering I’d maybe the water pump is an issue as well. I guess I fix the fan first and see.
thanks again. I’ll post findings in a few

Jumped the fan switch and the fan went on. Also noticed that the temp light came on about 30 seconds after I started the machine for the first time today. Could not have gotten to hot temp that quick. Would a bad fan switch kick the high temp light on too?

Looks like it is the temp light sensor that is faulty, and is switching on at too low a temp, rather than the fan sensor not coming on at the correct temp. You can test them using a thermometer a resistance meter and lowering them into a pan of boiling water if you know what temp they should work at, which I don't. Fairly sure the fan sensor should switch on at a lower temp than the warning light one.
