Hi all, I stripped my 88' Zilla down last night. And was wondering, since the field I normally will ride, and tall grass and other crap like that will probably get all jammed in my front aciplers and all. Could I remove the tin metal covers?, for easier washing or brake componets after a mud right or what not, plus mine are all bent up and the long grass (about 3 ft high) might tweak them even more when I'm really moven across it. Thanks guys!

Yes you can leave those off, I don't run them on mine because I got tired of straighting them out. Only one time in 10 years did I have a rock get in there and lock the wheel up. It took me 2 minutes to get it out and I was on my way, and yes it makes it much easier to cleam the wheels out.
