I have 1992 Lt250r, It has tons of power but not enough speed for me, so i want to get like a 300 kit or something and put a bigger front sprocket on and smaller rear ( i think thats rite ) i ride mostly in the woods soo i still need alot of bottom end, any sugs.??

Not too many choices for the 300 kit. I've been looking at the LRD 300 kit for awhile but waiting to see what Suzuki comes out with this fall for a new racing/sport quad. LRD is well know for building fast reliable motors. Trinity also has big bore kits but you couldn't pay me to let them touch my motor. Unless you know them personally, they seem to build motors that blow up.

If you ride mainly in the woods (which I will assume are somewhat tight and not wide open), why do you need more speed? Power and speed aren't the same thing. Power is expressed in horsepower and speed is expressed in miles/kilometers per hour. You can increase the power the motor has without increasing the overall speed of the quad. All depends on how the motor is built. If the quad already goes 50mph in the woods and that's pushing it, no reason to waste money on making it go 60mph. Like you said, you'll want more power in the low to mid range.

 

Yeah! The guys at Trinity rebuilt my Quadzilla tranny three times and never did get it right. (The last two times were free though) I got sick of sending it back and forth to Cali., puting it in and finding it still didn't work, and sending it back again. So I said screw it and just sold the thing as is. Now the guy who has it now has got it fixed. They were good about taking it back and everything, they were friendly, appologetic, and treated me well. They just never fixed my motor. I wasn't impressed either.

 

I forgot to mention i will be racing MX, that is mostly the reason why i want to get a 300 kit but now that i think about it, i think 250 should be good for now

 

The only thing i really like about Trinity is their aftermarket heads,best outthere.They are a big bore kinda type company and the bigger aint always the better,with 2 strokes engines if you go too far in the CC size then it seems that the bigger becomes the hotter wich means blown engines sooner or later.Lt250rman if you really want to get good speed out of your bike,wich i wouldnt recommend considering the use your making of it,i would go for a small bore like a 265 and a good mild port job but hey your the boss so...

I decided i want a aftermarket swing arm more, i just got mine welded and im sick of the chain adjuster to , the stock swing arm is a pain in the a$$
