Power Loss - new tires

A friend of mine has a Quadrunner 500 99'. I think he has 25x8x12 tires on front, 25x10x12 tires on rear. Wants to put 26" on his standard rims. Has anyone done this and if so has it affected the power of your Suzuki. Thanks for the Help.
