I'm 23 single, no speeding tickets and clean driving record and Progressive quoted me $4800 a year for a Yamaha R6.

Your insurance rates will also vary due to the area that you live. This is based on information that the insurance companies get in regards to the number of bikes stolen or crashed each year. If you're in a high risk area, your rates can be outrageous. I live in south central MN and whenI was trying to find insurance on my Vinson, the rates were as hi as $400 per year. But I decided to go with a company called Guide One. I only pay $85/year for the Vinson. Check to see if your insurance agents can get info on Guide One. My salesman also has a Busa. I can check with him to see what he pays and who he has the coverage through. He was pulled over for only doing 81 in a 55 and he was just given a warning. But he did say that the Busa will hit 150 mph in a big hurry. He has me tempted to buy one myself, but the finances aren't there yet.

Dang Woody,

That's some HUGE savings over the $1800 you were paying. Congrats.

I have an 00 Busa and an 01 gsxr1000. They are both insured thru my car carrier, State Farm. I'm in FL and 38 yrs old, rates are about $800 for each bike FULL coverage.
