Got Vinson belt wet...
#1
Well, I was wondering when it would happen, but I was sure glad it took so much to do it.
Here's the how...
I was running along a one of our many river spots this sunday, and I came upon a log that did not look deep. I failed to realize that the water rushing over it was causing a viscous eddie on the otherside. I climbed the log at a 45 degree and the rearend slid around and over. as soon as I got all four over the log I sank and kept singking even with the frame bottomed. water washed over the racks as i gunned it trying to let the 4-wheel drive pull me. No luck there. It just kept digging. I jumped off into navel deep water and began sinking myself. To my suprise, the vinson floated out of the whole I dug. So, I tugged and gunned it to the beach. It was still pulling till I got some REAL ground under it and I felt the slip. Even after all that I only had about a quart of water come out of the drain plug and not any oil contamination. as soon as I drained it and did a couple runs with the plug still out, it was ready to rock. Put the plug in and ran another 4 hours without a hitch. 78 miles and counting.
Thanks Suzuki for a awesome friend in the muck and mire!
