Kawi/Suzuki part sharing? Good or bad?
#1
I say bad. I can't think of any reason why this is good, other than in ten years parts will be easier to find for the models sharing parts... YAY! (sarcasm)
Wow... A choice of colors on the Z400... This will turn the market upside down... How exciting... *Puke*
Anyone agree? Anyone disagree? Please, I want a reason to look forward to future sharing of plat forms and engines... Gimme one...
Is this sharing of parts and entire bikes even gonna happen??
I REALLY REALLY hope that we get some 800cc Zuks soon... That would be awesome! A Quad Duner 800 and an Everest 800... It would be like the Raptor and Grizzly... Except this time they'd be good!!! (Just kidding!)

Oh yeah, the parts sharing is going to happen alright. It's already happening.
The only product line that will not be affected by this alliance is the sport bike segment. Kawasaki will still have it's Ninja line seperate from Suzuki's GSXR and Katana line. They said that in the beginning.
The ATV's, DirtBikes, and Cruiser motorcycles will share chassis platforms and/or engines.
Here's what we know so far.
Suzuki LT400Z......Kawasaki ???400
Suzuki DRZ125......Kawasaki KLX125
Suzuki DRZ125L.....Kawasaki KLX125L
Kawasaki KX65......Suzuki RM65
Kawasaki KLX110....Suzuki DRZ110
Both Suzuki and Kawasaki will announce "MANY" other models that will share platforms very soon. That is what they tell us anyway.
This is probally all good news to dealers who deal exclusivly with just one of these brands, but it's a nightmare for us because we carry both.
