Sorry for all the questions.. I just have so much to ask about the ZIlla...

but.. I hate the stock airbox set up on my 87 zilla.. and i was wondering if someone sells something better.. or can I put a K&N clamp on on the carb?

any ideas,
Jason

Here's a tip so you don't get kicked out of the forum, post one topic, not 5 at a time I always ran a uni-filter on the back of my carb. My ATC has a regular K&N in the airbox, but I don't like it as much as the Uni set-up.

Duncan Racing has a sweet set up for the LT500. Dirtwheels did a story on in June of last year I think.

I use the stock air box with a K&N inside. It may not breath the best, but it seems much more secure. I put my 500 in a lake a few weeks ago, and the stock air box saved me from a real headache, cuz I was able to yank her out before the water got into the motor.

People say th stock airbox doesn't breath as well, but the LT500 is insanely powerful already. It's got plenty of pull for me. Matter of fact, I scared the holy living hell out of myself the other day

What I did for insurance against a bad seal was take a nylon sock (steal one from your mother's panty drawer), stretch it over the air-box side of the carb-to-box boot, then put the boot back on and tighten the clamp back down. That way if anything makes it past the filter, it'll also have to find its way around the nylon before it reaches the carb then motor.......
