I installed a new clutch basket on my quad and it is still slipping. I had the clutch plates sitting from the last time out in the open but they were still oily but it still does the same thing. Is there any other place where they use a key or something that could be broken. It acts exactly the same as before and this makes me think maybe I'm looking in the wrong area.Any help on this from anyone would be appr. Thx

Did you install the steel plates in the correct direction? If you look at each side (lay them on a flat surface) one side will be somewhat beveled and the other side isn't. The beveled side should be facing outwards, which would leave the straighter side (exact 90 degrees) facing the motor. I also found that sometimes all you need is the friction plates only and if this is all you replaced then take the steel plates down to a machine shop and have them "Bead Blasted" to remove any glazing. This only works if your still within thickness tolerance! Also, did you replace the springs? Did you have them measured to see if your still within tolerence? This happened to me before. I replaced all the friction plates and steel plates, but not the springs. I put everything back together and guess what? IT SLIPPED!
Hope this helps.
