There is a rev limiter, to keep you from killing yourself. Even with the limiter, the Z is fast in reverse compared to other bikes I have ridden.

good thing for the rev limiter, cause this thing runs like a bastard in reverse if you crack her open............

Guess I better watch statements like that or everyone will start making claims to faster reverse speeds, let the mods begin...... aurgh!!! LMFAO

I have ridden my buddy's raptor in reverse and I can tell you this............ A Z will definitely beat a raptor in a reverse gear drag race.

OH this'll start some fights at the dunes

Z-boy "hey raptor boy, wanna drag"
Raptor-boy "I'll f*** your s*** up, punk"
Z-boy "fine, we'll drag. In REverSE!!"
Ex-Boy "I'll be the flag guy, i guess"

It run fine in reverse until it gets warmed up. After it has warmed up it will barley move it spuders and pops. Is there a why to disconnect it?

My 650 has a rev limiter on it too which is a real bugger when you are stuck. I bypassed it using a small toggle switch but i also kept the original override switch as well. Sorry for my ignorance, but doesn't the Z have an override?

I had this problem when I first got my Z. I just learned to let the clutch out way sooner than I thought I should, then watch out cause the guys are right, this thing will really move in reverse if ya want it to.
