Has anyone installed a V Force reed assembly on their zilla? If so, what kind of power gains did you notice(low end, midrange, top end)? Are they worth the money?

Over stock , i would have to say the V-force is great!!! The throttle responce is exellent.. I am happy with it. The only mods you will need to make are on the intake boot. You have to cut the "wings" off so the boot is flat on the reed cage. Very easy. IF you own a 87lt500r Buy your V-force right from Moto Tassinari. DONT buy it from any MOM and POP SHOP!!! I have found that some of these shops are selling the wrong aplication for the 87. The reeds are wrong and will break and the cage itself is the wrong size... Make sure you buy direct for Moto Tassinari . Their customer relations are the best. As far as 88-90 models im not sure if mods are even needed for the intake boot. Either way, I would contact Moto Tassinari and let them know what you need. If you dont see it on their website, call them. I know they will make one for you.
Hope this helps.

Hi Tick, They should have sent you the thicker reeds for the CR 500. Call them ....they should replace them at no cost.... They gave me a whole new custom made one for my 87 for free after i sent them the one that some pop shop was manufacturing (wrong design) with Moto's name on it....

Hey Tick, why do your reeds have a burnt look to them? They don't have any oil residue on them, did you wash them with something harsh before tacking a picture?

No nothing was wrong but the broken reeds. Of course this happened on vacation on the Oregon Coast...There are NO parts for the LT 500 but at Mom and Pop Suzuki in Coos Bay and they had Boysenn so I put them in and It ran fine...
