As you read in my other topic, I just put in an EBC race clutch kit in my Zilla.
I just had the head shaved, and the carb bored out and the clutch is slipping like mad. (Zilla is also ported)

I was told to put in BARNETT heavy duty springs. Anyone else have any experiences with EBC or Barnett clutches?

(I was told that the EBC's come with crappy springs)

I am baseing my opinion on:
I cannot squeze barnett springs for the zilla with my hands &
I just got a brand new EBC clutch kit ( I can squeze the springs just like the stock ones)
Also I have never had a problem with the barnett
I have been running a complete barnett in one zilla
and stock suzuki fibers with barnett springs in another with absolutly NO PROBLEMS.
Now that I heard your story I will definatly get some stiffer springs before I run the EBC.

You could probly scuff yours up and reuse them.....

I have an EBC in my lt250r. I have had no problems at all yet. I put that in a while ago. I also have a hinson clutch basket if that matters.

I guess I shouldnt say that ALL EBC clutches suck, as I had one in my 440EX and one in my Honda 350X and they both worked great.


I suppose the race clutch is just not strong enough for a modded Zilla. (without heavy duty springs)

 

I have the EBC clutch kit in my Zilla,but I did not use the spring's I put the heavy Barnette's in and it work's great,even when hitting the NOS they don't slip.I've had that clutch for three year's and raced hard with it without problem's,hope this help's....Zilla
