I'm not brand loyal. The last machine I had was a Banshee. Maybe fast in a straight line, but sucked on the trail. Personally, not impressed with them. I am a 2 stroke fan. The Z is my first 4 stroke. I have 2 old Kawasaki 2 stroke street bikes (H1's). I've also had Yamaha and Honda bikes. I'm just saying that if they're all stock, the Z is a good choice. The $ is right, it's light, and it has reverse.
When I had my old 250 racer I was keeping up w/ Honda 310r's on fast powerline trails, but I'd love to own a 250R. And I HIGHLY doubt that your friend's blaster is 200cc's if it's running that fast. That's got to be faster than Quadzilla, isn't it?
My opinion, but besides the weight of the DS and the ill handling of the Banshee's, all in stock form, they're all good bikes. I wanted to buy a 2 stroke...what about that Gas Gas? Then again, how hard is it going to be finding parts for it? I still love my Z.

The trouble is the 2 of you are talking about 2 different things. DaBeechMan is talking about a Highly MODDED Blaster ("im sure this blaster was modded pretty well" & "I know of a blaster that runs a 5.1"), and ltz400racer is talking about a STOCK Blaster.
From Personal Experiance, my buddy has a piped & jetted Blaster, He can not beet my KFX400 (Bone A** Stock). I know this, because we have raced each other about 50+ times. With that said, I KNOW that there are Modded Blasters out there that would Kick My A** all over the place.
You guys are going on about 2 completely different things. But Hey it's entertaining. Continue.

and as far as the other saying in here the raptor and predator AND cannondale have more CC..i hope they beet the z400s
Yes, you can make a Z400 fast, but what Dabeechman is saying is that they really aren't FAST. They may be decent, but the manufacters could have just stuck w/ the DRZ motor instead of going into the motor and detuning it so much and making it slow. I guess I'm saying the stock motor should be faster than what it is.
But I have also seen a pretty quick blaster on the Mx tracks around here. The kid riding it is only 12 and he's a intermediate class rider. I'm not sure what kind of motor work it has done, but I do know it's a 240. I've never drag raced it but when I get next to him in a straight, I'm always amazed at how much he can kind of hang with me. I mean my Dale will still pull away but not by a whole lot. Just for comparison, my C-dale is all stock as far as performance mods and the only thing it has on it that effects the speed is 18" grooved Tamers.

-dabeechman, no prob. I must apologize, too. It was kind of easy to get that confused. I will have to agree w/ the statement that they should have stuck w/ the bike motor instead of detuning it. What a load o' crap. 32cc's does make a difference. I took mine to a drag race in June (early summer some time) and was forced to race by my all Yamaha riding buddies. The only other dude in my class (4 stroke, stock, under 440cc) was a c'dale. I was smoked twice. I'm not a big fan of drag racing, however, I could care less how fast a quad goes in a straight line b/c I don't ride in a straight line.
The other good comment was "I am not brand loyal, I am performance loyal." How true it is. I almost had a 'dale but the Z came in before I had a chance to see the 'dale. I would like to ride one, but I'm happy where I'm at (after a few mods).

Ya, 32cc's do make a difference, but I honestly think that if the Dale was 400cc's instead of 432, it would still outrun the Z400 simply because it's a faster motor. It revs fast and high, and never has the slightest bit of hesitation because of the EFI. I guess I should have said "It's not the 32 cc's that make the Dale faster... it's the fact that the Dale is only tuned down w/ a restrictive exhaust and 1000 less RPMs as opposed to all the detuning done to the Z400 and every other quad that the big 4 releases.

Take the amount of money you saved by buying the Z instead of the C-dale, put the money into a 440 kit for the Z, and you will more than likely smoke the C-dale in a drag, and still have money left over!! Let's take a stock '04 Z and a stock '04 C-da.......oops, sorry I forgot.

Lol, dude, the c-dale only has a 32 cc advantage over the Z400. That SHOULD actually be a good race, but unfortunately the big 4 just don't build quads w/ strong motors. You make it sound like the extra 32 cc's is just a huge advantage or something.
If we go by this theory, it would make the need for a Z 440cc upgrade kit absolutely useless. The 32cc's extra, along with the Fuel Injection are a definate advantage for the C-Dales over the Z/KFX's, Period. To think otherweise would be naive.
