Want your two stroke to have more bottom end power? It is called a power valve.

the 4-stroke has more power? lol dont get me started on you slick

I hear some of you guys talking about how 2-strokes have lightswitch type powerbands and at a high rpm. So i guess my 250 which carries a peak hp/torque curve from 6500 to 11000 is just too peaky for you huh? Id like to see your raptor pull a curve like that.

If you guys are so worried about your mileage, buy the new (clarke i think) banshee tank which holds 5.5 gallons. Ride all your little heart desires.

4-strokes are couches with 4-wheels. But thats how they sell bikes, by making them SLOW and comfortable

2 strokes are the way to go. anyone who has ever hit high rpms on a 2-stroke knows that they **** on 4-strokes. any one who enjoys acceleration and going fast should have a 2-stroke. For those of you who ride like sallys, putt around on wide open trails and complain about replacing a frigin piston once every couple months (which by the fact takes a maximum of 3 hours) thats the reason you ride a 4-stroke. For those of us who like the speed, the smell, the loudness and originality of the 2-stroke engines, we got *****.

let me put this in blind mans terms, i have a 1973 suzuki ts 250 2 stroke, no power valve, no radiatiors, it was raced back in the day, now the top end was done in 1974, because of 1 year of racing, it is on its origional bore, due to them just replaceing the cyclinder. fast foward to 2004, 30yrs later, and many many miles, it is still on that same top end, with high compression, and starts first kick all the time, dont ask me how, but it does

my 2000 factory rm, is on a new cyclinder, due to racing, they never bored, just new cyclinder, being factory guys have an endless supply of parts. now that rm is a 2000, and now it is 2004, never a new top end in those years, and the compression has dropped 5lbs in all those years, it also is ridden hard, and heavily modded. it is on belray syn at 32:1, all you have to do for a 2 stroke is be carefull not to over revv, and keep it cleaned, and proper maitence it will last pretty much forever.

vinson has 2500mi, on it and also still runs perfiect and is also on mobil 1 syn, they all last just do matience.

I also have both 2 and 4 strokes and they are both 4x4s. I like them both very much but the sound that a 2 stroke makes just sounds so much better to me. I have rode a yz125 (very pipey) and a yz490 (not pipey at all). My 2 stroke quad has plenty of low end all the way to the top.

4 strokes last about twice as long as two strokes. 4 strokes typically have a wider power band than 2 strokes. 4 strokes have the power down low and is more useable for woods riding. 4 strokes don't require pre-mix. 4 strokes use less fuel than 2 strokes.

2 strokes make about twice the power of a 4 stroke engine of equal size. 2 stokes can rev all day long. Much more parts available for 2 strokes. You can dial in a 2 stroke across a wide range to suit your needs. 2 strokes respond better to aftermarket parts. More horsepower for your dollar. 2 strokes rule the dunes.

Your choice. I'll take one of each.
