I was play racing my z and i noticed after a while it seemed to start sputtering a little then i took off down a dirt road and toped it out for a like 10-15 seconds and when i let off it sputterd and died. It wouldnt start back up for a while like it was hot so i let it cool down for a while and it started right up? is this normal or a problem? thanks in advance.

 

Hows your coolent level? is your fan coming on ? is there anything blocking your radiator?

 

No there is nothing blocking my radiator and there is a little over the low line of coolent and i havent heard the fan but i have a loud yoshi pipe i cant realy hear anything but that.

 

Did you jet it properly with the pipe? If your running lean she'll over heat.

 

mtecate4g is right,if you have not correctly jetted you are lean and will over heat.also it would be a good
idea to make sure your fan is working.stand where you can see the fan and let it idle until the fan comes on.

 

I'd guess lean on the top end...do the same thing with the choke "on"
How does it run throught the rest of the range?

 

it runs good through the rest of the range but after like 30 min of ridin as hard as i can it starts to do it a little. but i do wind it pretty high when im racin.

 

It still shouldnt overheat. My guess is improper jetting after pipe install.

 

so i should be able to top it out for a while with out it over heating?

bump up your main jet and give it a go
