I was told that my lt250r was a 91 when I bought it used but when I put new seals in the motor one of them didn't fit. Can you tell by the serial number on the motor?

I dont know if there is a way to tell from a serial # or not, but there are ways to narrow it down. If it has a power valve than its a 87 or newer. I dont think the motors changed after that in any way that would affect the shape of the seals but am not positive. Somebody with a better knowledge of later model Quadracers might be able to tell what year if they knew which seal doesn’t fit.

The inside diameter of the counterbalencer seal is 35mm where the counterbalencer shaft and bearing is both 25mm so that seal set was definitely not the year of my motor. It does have the power valve.

If all the seals fit but one, it could have been a mistake at the warehouse.
