Yeah, we figured out that the seal had to be removed. We got it removed but now the bearings and the sleeve are rusted tight. We've pounded on them and made some creative devices to get them out but they won't budge. haha We're having so much trouble. For the most part, it looks like your Suzuki. Bearing, then sleeve, then another bearing. It's definitely accumulated water over the years and now we're paying for it. Any further suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks alot!

Wow, tough job, if they have seen water it makes it a lot harder. There is only 2 ways to get it out, heat it up if you have access to a acetylene torch or you can try a propane torch and penetrating oil, I use "Release All" but any kind is good, keep spraying it.

If you get a chiesel on it to pound, pound away, make sure you spray it good first so if it moves it will hit the oil.

Another thing, I know they are hard to see sometimes because of rust is make sure there is no locking spring in front of the bearing.

Keep at it, you'll get it, getting a little cold to ATV now anyway and in our area there is hunters in the bush.

We ATV year round. I go out everyday after school usually just to ride around and see what's new because we have a bunch of land.

I guess another heavy dose of penetrating oil won't hurt it. It's just so frustrating because we are so close. This is the last step before we can replace the bearings.

Really pound it. Go for it, once you budge it a bit it will come off.

I've tried, I've tried. I went out again a little bit ago and worked on it. No luck. I'm just about to give up. We might try a torch on it tomorrow, if we don't get it by then.

Wow, you might want to bring it in, propane is not hot enough, you would need acetlyne.

I'm just astonished at how tight those bearings are. It's ridiculous. How often do you check your bearings? If we do ever get these bearings fixed and get it sold we're going to buy a new ATV and it'd be nice if we never let the bearings rust together again. ha

Yeah, my Artic Cat is really hard to change and the bearings are 3 times the price of the Suzuki. I check my bearings about twice a year, I have a strong arm jack and just jack it up and move the tire around.

My Suzuki bearings were never changed in 5 years and came right out and were not really that bad.

You know what I did with my Artic Cat was I took a little polishing grinding wheel with a light sand paper on it and polished/grinded the hub down a little bit where the bearing was stuck on it like yours. Then I packed as much waterproof grease (any grease is better than none) in it as I could and put it back together.

The Artic Cat bearings seem to last 2 years, you are not alone on bearing failure everyone has trouble with it, but hey whats more fun than water and mud.

That grinding wheel sounds like a good idea too but my grandpa is a big time farmer and he has some kind of hydraulic jack thing he uses to remove bearings so I guess my dad and I are going to try that sometime this weekend. It'd better work! haha
