Default Kodiak Year

Hi,
recently bought a Yamaha Kodiak YFM450 on Ebay, think it's quite an early model. Can anyone tell me how to determine it's age and where to source a workshop manual cheap or preferably free. Thanks, Spud

There should be a VIN sticker on the left side of the bike up near the front of the frame where the winch would mount. It'll have the year, make and model stamped on it . I think if you surf the net a shop manual should be easy enough to find. The only thing is you could probably buy one for $20 or so from your dealer. The ink cartridge in your printer could be worth $50 so it might not be cost effective. Unless you're like me... and print off all your large volume stuff on the office printer... Ha ha, my little way of stickin' it to the man eh?!
