2002 400ex just clicks when u try to start it. Never actually turns over. I charged the battery full, took outthe carb and its perfectly clean. Even tried using starter fluid but nothing worked it still just clicks. Someone please help!

I'd try to pull start it to get it running. Starter fluid and carb cleaning won't help you if the engine won't turn over.

Did you check the battery? You can put it on a charger but, if the battery is bad it's still not going to hold enough charge to start the machine. If it has set very long you probably need a new battery.

Could be the starter solonoid. Put a pair of jumper cables directly to the starter if you can. If it spins and the engine turns over know your starter is good. Or maybe do the old screwdriver across the solonoid trick.

Like i said before you could pull start it if you want to see how it runs.

If the starter is just clicking, a new plug will do nothing. get it running with a pull start, as mentioned, or pull out the starter and see if it turns over when out of the motor, maybe you have a bad starter , or something is causing the motor to lock up so the starter cant turn it. Just 2 bolts and the starter comes out, then just ground the case and see if it spins over when you push the button.

I would suggest you get a Haynes Manuel for the quad. these 400s aren't to complex but a lack of experience could do more harm than good.

as said the spark plug has nothing to do with the engine turning over. The starter needs to be checked.
