Default Brake bleeding, 2002 Honda 400EX

Having an issue with my front brakes. Pads are ok, bike was sitting for a while (2 years). Got it running but no front brakes. Attempted bleeding, but to no avail. Someone told me that it takes hours to bleed these things. I tried regular methods, a vacuum bleeder, and a few different methods I found online. I think it's a bad master cylinder. This thing has ZERO pedal/handle. Rear brakes are fine. Seems like a simple enough system. There are no visible leaks. Can anyone offer insight? Would be greatly appreciated!

The reservoir is really small, so it is easy to get low on fluid when bleeding if you aren't watching closely. I don't like the vacuum bleeding for that reason on these. At 12 years old and after sitting for two years, a rebuild kit couldn't hurt. I am also wondering if you might not have a copper crush washer that is faulty. It really is a simple system. Good Luck!

As Scooter86 said, you will probably need a rebuild kit. Try to bleed as best as you can. Leave the master cylinder cover loose, then zip tie or wire the brake lever so that it remains open (like your squeezing the brake lever). Leave it overnight. This will allow any air trapped in the line to work its way up to the master cylinder. After, try to bleed again in case your brake line does not have a straight run. This should get any remaining air out of the line.

Thanks guys. I figured as much, there really is nothing to these brake systems. Didn't think it should be that difficult. At $65 I'm just going to replace the entire master cylinder. Appreciate the help fellas! Will post when I get it all back together. Thanks!
