I do it all the time without any problems. Just make sure you tie it down properly. I also store two of mine upright in the garage and haven't had any issues.

Like NewDuck said, turn the gas off. What I do, is start it, turn the gas off and let it run until it dies. That way, there is no more gas in the carb.

Like was stated before make sure the gas is off and the gas vent hose is in a vertical position, otherwise you could siphon gas right out of your tank, and with the cost of gas these days that would not be a good idea.

Also, don't leave your four stroke standing on its rear rack too long otherwise you'll drain all the oil out of the crank case. This is not a problem with 2cycles and may or may not be with four strokes if they are not left for a long time.

I know my Warrior manual says to not do this (as well as my friend's DS650). So beware. I would assume what Grizzly said is what the problem is, or could be. I have seen four (yes FOUR) quads stood up in the back of a Ford Super Duty long bed before at Pismo. THough make sure you tie them down good. A large portion of their weight (motors) will be up in the air 3 feet.
