Default Suggestions on Rims & a bed for my S-10

Yah i wish i could do a hydro. bed and all.. its only $800 to change a normal bed to a dump bed.. but to buy an aluminum bed also would be mad $... I have a 4.3 with a 700r4 tranny and a 4:1 transfer case... but A. its my wheelbarrel.. and B. Its my future rock crawler... .... Its the black truck in my pics.. its a crazy motor.. only 55,000 miles on it after rebuild too.. runs great... the 4:1 is amazing.. 4-lo you just let go of the clutch and go at like half a mile an hr without touching the gas and its so strong. So that'll be my Rock Crawler... i want the green one to stay closer to a daily driver... so idk about biggen tires or anything.. but a V-8 is a must... why talk smaller.. how bout a 454? LMAO that'd be amazing.. My brother had one to.. just sitting there.. next to a 84 camaro with a PERFECT body and interior, but a blown motor.. He sold the package for $350 while i was on vaca a fre moths ago.. i wanted to cry... perfect rebuilt 454 and a perfect body camaro Z-28 for $350.. Oh man.. even if he just sold the car.. i coulda put the 454 in my truck! Makes me cry everyday. haha

Possible 454
If i was only rich 454
Or would a small block be smarter?

The smog legal way... hm
Vortec

What do y'all think? Consider price if you want to.. but i want a good motor to do some light work and towing... but a fast motor when im not doing any work or towing

Also.. would a 700R4 tranny hook up to that with the 4:1 transfer that my 4.3 has? if not what would go good with it for a tranny/transfer?

Edit: Is it not a 700R4? Thats just what i was told but doing research it seems like that is more of a 2wd tranny, for performance... What kind of tranny goes with the 4:1 transfer case with the 4.3? Im positive it has the 4:1 and i want one like that in my green truck.

Well you may want to rethink dropping a big block in her. Not that that wouldn't have uber cool factor or anything, but the one S-10 BB conversion I saw was a nightmare to pull off. You have to get rid of all your inner fenders so you'll lose mud protection under the hood. Invest in a heavy duty 4core radiator (3 may do it, but now w/ a big motor like that). Springs shouldn't be a problem, you may have to fab up your own motor mounts, but Advanced Adapters probably makes a kit. If I remember correctly you'll have to go at the firewall w/ a sledge to get it in, but anything is possible if you want.

I'm a lil rusty on my bowtie history, but the 700r4 is the modern day equivalent of the turbo 350, just w/ overdrive and electronics. The 700r4 was put in camaro's, trucks, s-10's, the list goes on. A big block will not bolt directly to your tranny, since it's got a small block bolt up pattern (a 4.3 is literally a 350 w/ 2 cylinders cut off, literally). Advanced Adapters does make an adapter plate. As far as the transfer case it should bolt up, you may have to replace the tail shaft thought, but that's no big deal. Just four bolts. Good luck and if you get that BB in there hold on for your life, I sat in that one that had a 427(don't remember, been along time) and only rode in it once. Mind you it was a two wheel drive, but I preferred walking the mile back to the guys house instead of riding back in that thing.

maybe ill stick to the 350hha.. my friend has a motor mount kit to put a 350 in an s-10.. so it shouldnt be too bad.

I'll save the 454 idea for a camaro

Yea my S-10 is 2 wheel drive with 4.3, I am working on a trailer so it wont be long before I don't have to load it up in the back of the truck.
