What should I use to clean the outside of my toy hauler?
Hi. I have a new 07 Weekend Warrior SLC 40 ft. toy hauler and I was wondering what I should use to clean the outside of it? It has the flat siding with the gel-coat. It's getting pretty dirty now and there are a ton of dead bugs on the front of it.
What chemical(s) should I use?
Should I use a pressure washer? Some guys say they're great, others say don't use them cause they'll blow off the graphics on the trailer.
Should I wax it? If so, with what and how often?
Thanks in advance.

The roof is likely EDPM, a rubberlike membrane, but resistant to UV damage. Petrolium distillates can ruin the roof, so be careful what you use on it. There are cleaners and treatments specifically designed for RV rubber roofs, but take care when you rinse it off as they normally give off white chalky residue that is difficult to remove from the siding if it dries on.
I would not use a pressure washer, as it might push moisture into a joint and cause mould or siding delamination. A good car wash soap, like McGuire's will work on the siding, or there are cleaners designed for RV's that are supposed to help keep a glossy finish. Avoid getting water in places like the vent door for the fridge. Waxing is optioinal.
If you do choose to wax it I would make sure to get a non-abrasive wax that is easy to remove (McGuire's #3 would work).
Anyway, bottom line is I would hit an RV shop and pick up some RV roof cleaner, roof treatment, and RV soap...

I found this stuff, but I'm not sure if it's good:

I just bought a bottle of similar stuff from a small RV shop in town that was going out of buisness.
Haven't used it yet, but I understand those cleaners that are supposed to leave a glossy waxy residue are pretty good.
When you live in the desert, though, there is probably no substitute for keeping it parked in a building or under one of those metal carports...
Anyway, congrats on the new warrior. I'm sure you will have a blast with it.
