Default Looking for a light weight trailer that can be towed by a Jeep Liberty

Good evening,

I am looking for a toyhauler that I can tow with my Jeep Liberty. Does anyone have any ideas? My jeep can tow 5000 lbs. I need room to put a quad and a bike in it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

There is not to much out there that your Liberty can pull as far as a toyhauler goes, they are all very heavy. Maybe the Fleetwood Scorpion but it weighs 3850lbs empty. Perhaps a small enclosed utility trailer like a Haulmark and you can use it to set up a cot in when you have your toys out.

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately when we bought the Jeep we hadn't started riding yet. I guess we will have to look into a different vehicle, then a trailer.

Claudia,
we have a Jeep Liberty, although we just use it for a car, and leave the towing for our pickup truck. There are a few toyhaulers that could be towed with a Liberty, but they are going to be small compared to most toyhaulers. One thing that may limit the Liberty in towing is the very marginal cooling system that Chrysler designs Jeeps with. You'll have to watch it pretty close, make sure you are within your rated towing capacity, and have good brakes on the trailer.

I just did a really brief google search on toyhaulers, and in less than a minute came up with this one as an example of one that a Liberty could tow. Good luck.

3500 lb GVWR toy hauler

Thank you for the information. I will have to look into american freedom toyhaulers. I have a feeling we will be looking into buying a toyhauler when we are ready to buy a truck. Right now we will stick with renting from u-haul. But thank you for the help. We really appreciate it.

Claudia,
This is an enclosed very light trailer. You can haul things and be fully protected from the weather. It is less than $1600 and should fit your needs. Let me know if you have questions. You can also call 1-800-950-2210 to speak directly with someone. Here is the link to our site it has pictures and more information. Good luck with the search!

Claudia,

I have an 02 Liberty and tow a conventional single axle trailer with fold down ramp. Although its not huge by any stretch (5'x10'), my Jeep has no problems. I realize that you'd be towing a little more weight (my quads a 600 lb Eiger) but would guess that one of the all aluminum Triton Trailers would work real well. They are expensive though. Hope this info is helpful. Ride safe.

An inexpensive alternative to Triton trailers are the NorthStar trailers. They're made of steel and still only weigh in at around 500lbs. It lets you haul 2 full-sized ATVs.

Hi,
As a vendor who carries these trailers I have to agree. You get a great trailer at an affordable price. Call if you have questions 1-800-950-2210.

You should be fine towing a light trailer, but toyhauler would not be recommended. Your wheelbase is too short to tow safely.
