anchor point for winching an atv into a pickup bed
I have a tacoma 2006 only bed area close to frame bed hold down bolts. thought just bolting down some d rings. how ever they say they are not for lifting. I want to winch because it is safer. Last time I tried to load the bike in the yard covered with 3 inches of gravel. It the front wheels went up the ramp. the rear wheels broke traction and the left front wheel went off the ramp. I jumped to the right side and kept itup right. at first could not get it back on the ramp. I got mad and lifted it back on rolled it down and repostioned the truck and rode it up. Only place to place anchor is hwere the bed mounts to the bed.

Trifold ramps....park on a slope take some angle off the ramps....park by a steep enough slope and push it on...... or a dump trailer. I dumped one loading it on seperate ramps and was lucky to get out with stitches on my chin, so I understand why you would want to be careful. I was in a hurry, and I am much more cautious since that adventure. I now use all of the methods above.
It seems it would be a pain to modify the truck and winch it on........on the other hand I only get to use my winch a couple times a year, maybe it would make it worth while to play with one of my accessories. Good luck, and stay safe

somtimes you may need a little rolling start to go up the ramps. Mine get real slick when wet but with a rolling start I still go right up. At home I back the rear of the truck in the ditch and the tailgate lines up nicely with the ground.
