Default load rite trailer

I have a load rite atv-2550 trailer and love it my concern is it has the 10 in tires with 70lbs of air in them, empty the trailer bounces all over the place. I do not tow it very far empty, is there a way to reduce this bounce. Also is there a easy way to increase the capacity of this trailer.New springs? Helper springs? Any Help THANKS

i'm not sure what you can do with a single axle as far as smoothing out the empty ride. i'm not sure how much this trailer cost you either. do you use it for anything else? i myself use a 16'X82" tandem axle trailer to haul my atvs on amongst other things. i got it new for $1700.00. i'm sure someone will chime right in for any mods to your trailer. sorry i couldn't help ya out other than trying to talk you into upgrading a trailer.

There's not a whole lot you can do about the bounce, that's just how trailers are. They are meant to carry a load, so when they are empty they bounce when you hit bumps.

As far as increasing the capacity, probably not worth it. You would have to replace the axle, springs, tires, wheels, and possibly reinforce the frame. Then you have a trailer with higher weight capacity but still room for only 2 ATVs. If you need more weight capacity, you would probably be better off selling it and getting a different trailer that suits your needs.

One thing you CAN do with it is move the axle back. they simply bolt on the main frames. This will put more weight on the tongue, increase the actual wheelbase etc. BUT, it might upset how the load sets on the trailer. You need to keep more weight on the tongue than the back, but don't go overboard. This will help the jounce.

Well I only paid $500.00 for the trailer and it is almost new I guess Ill just deal with it. I am actually looking at the new snow pro hybrid snowmobile box trailer the atvs sit side by side in a ENCLOSED trailer, rear ramp W side door.
