Those are great numbers for a diesel that small.

It will be interesting to see how it is received here in the states. Seems diesels are perceived as dirty and loud here and only good in larger trucks. I would love a 1/2 ton diesel (provided it actually had good power and mileage, etc)...but I do like the Ford Econboost engine also..seems like 2 different ways of trying to get the same thing (mileage and torque)

They did...back in the early 80's GMC and Chevy had modified 350 diesel's in 1/2 ton's. Back then most truck's were regular cab's w/8 ft bed's...they were used as work truck's so they were usually overloaded and the engines being modified gas engines kept breaking crank's. Good idea for mileage increases but the 1/2 tons lately have been getting great mileage with the new gas engines. I'm all for diesel's but mostly for work truck's or for heavy towing where a 3/4 or 1 ton is a much better platform. Initial cost and the price of diesel and maintenance would keep me away for everyday use.

This is the best truck I have had so far. 04 f250 with 50k on it now. Set up with a mm2 plow, fifth wheel hitch, extra leaf springs and rolling on BFG at 33's. Also matching cap and matching 14' tandem axle Danzer trailer. Threw in a couple pics of her bumper plowing in a bilzzard this winter.... Never got stuck.
