I just got a bigger truck and trailer. I still own the Chevy Colorado at the top of this page, but had started hauling two UTVs on a 22' car hauler trailer, and was over the tow rating limit for the Colorado. The 22' car hauler with two UTVs is no problem for the new truck. It cruised up a 10% grade in the Rockies pulling the two UTVs into a 40 mph head wind, and stayed in high gear the whole time. 935 ft lbs of torque gets the job done.

Nice truck. I take it that's a diesel with that kind of torque?

Liked my Titan Cummins diesel going over the Rockies with 3 quads on an old snowmobile trailer. Did pretty good with 555 lbs. of torque. Only had to downshift a few times.
935 sounds crazy fun! Must feel like it could pull down Mt. Rushmore.

I'm guessing it's the 450 HP Power Stroke. 935 lb-ft.

Yes, it is the 450 hp version. It tows great, it really doesn't seem to matter what you put behind it, because it still doesn't feel like it is towing anything. My last diesel was a 2016 Ram with the 900 lb-ft Cummins, and I like the way this truck drives better than the Cummins. Ram programs the Cummins with too restrictive of torque management, which combined with a lot of turbo lag, actually makes the Ram feel quite doggy in around town driving. It is just too slow to respond when you give it the throttle. This Power Stroke responds much quicker, with virtually no turbo lag at all. It feels like a rocket ship compared to the Ram for around town driving. Out on the highway where they're both spooled up and pulling they both have plenty of power.

I wouldn't want to put up with lag like you say the Ram has. My dad said I had my foot on the throttle so hard my toes were in the carburetor. I've also been told I drive like I'm in a race. My old vanity plate (maximum of 7 numbers and letters in Michigan) was LEDFOOT, and I lived up to it, but l got a plate with my name on it since then. I like to be up to freeway speed by the time I'm up the ramp, and whenever my friends followed me I was always looking back and slowing down, even when they weren't pulling anything. I would need more truck if I had a big heavy trailer, but my 4.8L gasser is good enough for my single place trailer.

It's interesting what Cummins and Nissan did with the turbo. It's a two stage unit, not a twin turbo. So, it kicks in fairly low on the rpms, around 1500. Not too bad. I've had both 1/2 tons and full ton pickups and wanted something kind of in between. The Titan XD diesel is probably as close as anything I've driven to what I was looking for. May change in the future but am liking it.

That new Ford sounds like a beast. I probably shouldn't try one out though. I'll end up wanting one.

I wouldn't mind having a Supercharged 800HP Silverado for my next truck. I may be broke but I can still dream.

ETA: They make a 4x4 version that I would get if I was buying one at all.

AdrenalineRush, NICE truck!!

My son-in-law just hauled their Excursion on a flatbed trailer with his friends 2017 Shelby F-150 from Medford OR to Salt Lake City.
Its down on power a bit with only 750 HP. While its only a 5.0L he said it did just fine.
His friend Dan also owns a 2017 Super Snake, a 2017 Shelby GT 350, a Nissan GTR, a McLaren and a Ferrari.

My daughter likes driving the F-150 more than the others. I'm looking forward to my next trip to visit them.

I hope to get a car in the next 6 months. I'm putting too many miles on my truck way too fast.
