I don't know much about the lifts and tires because a lift on an atv just doesn't make much sence to me, but that's just my opinion. If you go to highlifter, you should be able find what you are looking for.

i drove over to highlifter the other day and they don't have much out for the 700 yet. guess it's time to start fabricationg some stuff myself. i have thought about selling the tiger but not just yet. right now it's not drivable. i just got the motor in it last weekend, a 408 stroker. now i need to get a tranny for it. trying to find a good four speed that hasn't been trashed and one that the seller doesn't think is made of gold.

I have 26x12x12(stock 25x11x12) and 26x10x12(stock 25x9x12) ITP 589's on my Polaris 700. I got nearly 2" extra clearance. Without me on it, I have 13.25" clearance in the back. The ITP 589's with 6 ply, keep their height well with low airpressure.
While dropping 3,000 feet down this mountain in the Sierras, I did get occassional rubbing....but nothing bad. I'm pretty certain that I would have rubbing, if I were to go to 27". Personally, on the rocks a lift kit doesn't help....it hurts. So I wanted to avoid it. So that's why I didn't try 27".
I would email High Lifter...about their spacers...they have modest 1" spacers for the 2002 Polaris. Tiresnstuff has the lift kit (I'm sure many others do to).
Personally...if I lifted it....I would put at least the 1" spacers to get a wider footprint for stability. You'd have to talk to more guys who have done the lift kit and the long term effects on the axles (because of the greater angle).

Buddy of mine is running 27" gators on stock rims with no rubbing. Slings some mud outside of the fenders and sometimes in thick, sticky mud, he will have a fender stuffing ( thats what we call it in the south where there is so much mud between tire and fender it restricts tire rotation ).. He has idicated several times he wished he had put 26" tires on to provide more clearence and less chance of stuffing.

Ain't no way, I could run 27" doing that. I'd rip the fender off.
But what you say is good for Tex to know...since being in a relatively flat state....he'd probably be ok, if what you say is true.

thanks for the input. i designed my own 3" lift and finished it yesterday. i'm putting 28's on it since most of the ruts around here are pretty deep. got the snorkle finished and got my exhaust extention finished so it slips on and off easly. did the old basket ball trick up front with two basketballs and it's now ready for the deep stuff.

Great Point Ken - No all we do is ride in the mud and on some sandy / muddy trails. For the most part the closest we get to a mountain or hill is when we ride up and down the sides of the local river banks ( 15 - 20 % max. ) or in utility ditches. For the most part we only mud ride in swamp type land with very little inclines or declines. Thanks Mark
