They dont have power, when i see them at glamis they shouldnt even belong there, and they cant make it up the hill. I know they are for rock climbing and stuff, but i mean come on, why would you want to go ride a quad on rocks instead of going 85 miles an hour on a dry lake bed or race somebody up the hill to see who is the king of the hill? I mean come on.

This has got to be the stupidest most obnoxious start to a thread I have ever read on this site. There should be a completely different forum for threads like this and it should be labeled Jackasses.
EXACTLY! The line betwween sport and ute has become so blurred, it doesn't even ~really~ exist. Sure, pure sport quads can do some things that pure utes can't, and vice/versa. As long as you are riding, enjoying, and not being a jackass, who cares what you are on. 4 wheels=4wheels. Support eachother. Oh, and as for Utes at Glamis-pray that a ute doesn't have to pull your broken down a$$ back to your truck.
Ride on!

All quads are good. You don't see forums with guys arguing wether their sand rail is better then a Jeep, which exactly the same as a sport vs a ute. I own both and each is designed for a purpose. I live in Phoenix so I ride wide open desert and rocky, muddy, log strewn mountain trails. Glamis is 2.5 hours away and the Paiute trail in Utah is 6 hours away. Many rides I've been on are more than 150 miles in a day. That's harsh on a sport quad. My grizzly has seen glamis, but my 450 is just more fun there. I've seen a smelly and loud banshee at 10,000 feet on the Paiute trail and did not feel like I was being invaded. I actually had to help him down because his jetting had fouled his plugs. This guy just wanted to ride, and didn't have the money to buy more than one quad. Since most of his riding was in the sand the Banshee was good for him, but in the middle of July the deserts out West are HOT. We all buy what we think will suite most of our riding needs and budgets. I hear people talking about the P700 with it's sport quad like agility and I would like to try one, but I just can't part with the Griz. Heck the most fun I've had was back on a 185S three wheeler in the early 80's. There was no Sport vs Ute back then.

Just when I thought that this thread was finally dead, it rises from the ashes. Can we all agree to never to post to this thread again? There's nothing that hasn't been said in the previous 3,000 posts in the thread.

ill beat ANY raptor on the planet. as long as we are in the mud or snow.
my personal reasons why sport quads are not as good as utilities
1 most are too loud
2 they are uncomfortable (stiff suspensions)
3 useless in the mud
4 useless in the snow
5 useless in rock gardens
6 cant haul or carry anything
7 cant hunt with them
8 no ground clearance
9 cant tow anything heavy
10 and most importantly no 4 wheel drive option
had to stick up for the utes.its just a personal opinion

I agree, we should not post to this thread.....Oh ****, I just did.
By the way, it shouldn't matter if it has 2, 3 or 4 wheels (I have at least 1 of each) we all ride in the same places and need each others support to keep our sport from being regulated out of existance. Ya'll need to back the foik off from putting down the bike/trike riders. If it weren't for them you wouldn't even have quads.

Obviously people who don't like this thread should not read it and move on to something they find interesting. If you look at the number of post here you'll see it's a topic that has a lot of interest and staying power. Build a bridge and get over it. Move on to the more important threads about wether green is better than blue or red or yellow. Or how my dump truck/quad is faster than your dump truck/quad. Maybe you could direct your attention to the thread about my 2nd cousin Billybob on his tricked out TRX90 beating a modified Banshee on Competition hill because of Honda reliability. Lots of good stuff here on this forum stop whining and find something you like.
If it's so lame why are you sitting there reading it again!

Think to yourself about why people like different types of atv's before you go stirring up a bunch of ****. Some people do not like going 80mph, hell i rarely go over 40. Laugh all you want but i enjoy riding and being able to see whats going on around me and being safe while im doing it. Also us hunters have to have something to carry our corn in with and our deer out with. Try sittin a bag of corn on your plastic and keeping it there when you ride in. This has got to be one of the most bias forums i have been on. Oh yea by the way your little raptor aint go **** on my foreman in the mud. My Foreman
