Polaris 500 HO ATP vs Arctic Cat 500 Automatic TBX
#1
Good Day,
I have a 2004 Polaris 500 HO ATP,and my neighbor was looking at the Arctic Cat 500 TBX, similar style to the ATP, with the dump bed. The problem is where we live no-one runs the Acrtic Cat (which might be a sign), so we have no-one to talk to about this machine, pro's and con's.....
If anyone has some insite on the comparison on these machines, I would appreciate any headz up....
Thanx in advance...

it'd prolly be better to ask your question in the cat forum since not a whole lot of AC owners visit this section. I, however, am not aware of any problems with the TBX though. The Cat does have more ground clearence and suspension travel, bigger fuel tank, fully independent suspension, 4x2/4x4, and MRP racks in the front. It's also longer (both in wheelbase and LOA), wider and taller. But it has less towing and rear cargo box capacity than the HO.

Hi,
I own a 2003 TBX 500i. It only has 53 miles on it. I only really use it for plowing snow and doing some work around the house. I can tell you I have never had a problme with it and I am really happy with it. If and when the time comes, I would definitely look at another Cat. The dump body comes in handy.

Your neighbor could also look into a Kolpin dump box. It secures to a standard rear rack and can turn any machine into an ATP. As I understand the reviews, its pretty easy to install and is removable as well.
