I want to reroute the cable on my warn 4-2-4 to make room for a winch. The directions say to remove small set screw on red button and remove red button and screw. I removed the set screw but the red button won't come off. The 4-2-4 was on the atv when I bought it therefore I don't know how it was installed. Please help.

 

Is it in 4 wheel drive or taken out??

I think it needs to be locked in 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive I cant remember

I had to fool with mine alitte while ago

 

it doesn't matter, the button unscrews counter clock wize from the black button, after the screw is removed, then remove the 2 main nuts, big and little,push the brass level foward and release from the cable, be careful there are 2 ***** that are used to lock in 4x4, be easier to do it while engaged in 4x4
