Yes it does have enough power for two people. The low range is geared perfectly for trail riding and for mudding, you will never power it out in low. Max speed in low would be approx 40km/h and in high with two on board is 95km/h (according to the speedo)

These 400's have great power for there size, the Grizz and another friends BF 650 will have trouble getting to 110km/h -- not that top speed really matters anyway. Power wise, it compares very well to any 500 cc machine.

OK, its got enough power, but thats alot of work for a 400cc engine. I personally wouldnt want a 400cc two person quad. What i was meaning to say is a 400 will feel underpowered compared to a 500 with two people on it

FYI, you do choose to lock in the front end on the Bombs, the machine doesn't do it for you when it decides.
You have buttons to choose between 2wd/4wd. At least know what you're talking about.

toyeboy not to say anything but i own two aritic cat 500 trvs and i ride three people at one time me at 225, my wife at 170, and my son at 110 and i have never had a problem with power as a matter of fact two years ago i had me and my two daughters one 14 and one 16 on my 03 trv and on the front rack a three point deer (western count) all in all over 700 pounds on the bike at 10000 feet and never used low range so until you own one dont say things you know nothing about. for a true work horse try looking at the aritic cat line up with the ONLY exspandble racks!

That's just gearing, you can get a 50cc engine to lug around 2 people if you gear it low enough.

What I have trouble with is this dude is asking about a 2up machine and then asking about rough terrain. You arn't going to get a 2up quad thru as much stuff as you will a single person quad. If your gonna have 2 people on there then you better stick to nicer trails or your gonna buck your wife off and get her hurt or both of you hurt. If your really wanting a 2 up quad then get whatever you feel rides the best and has enough poop to lug you around.

As far as the Bomb "boondocking" anywhere a Grizz will go that is wrong, sure it has more power and that is why people say it's better. 99% of quad riders I see on here and elsewhere don't know what "boondocking" is. They wanna have the biggest baddest quad and sling their Epeen over their shoulder and talk smack. Get some of these city punks in the bush and let em follow some country boy around then they'll see what all that power does for em. The Grizz will run down a trail plenty fast enough to turn you into a grease spot on the side of a tree. I suppose if I wanted to run my Utility around in the sand dunes then I'd opt for a Bomb 800, hell Id even get the Renegade. But for lugging around a chain saw and fencing supplies in the toolies I'll take the Grizz anyday, with AC coming in a very close second.

Bomb, KQ and Honda arn't even in the running, to me they make Junk.....Hell I'd get a Polaris over Bomb or KQ

trvman, if you were worried about saying something then you shouldn't have said that....I'm not stupid okay so please don't treat me like I am... I've posted on this forum a lot more than you. It's not like I was bashing the Arctic Cat .. I said 500cc in any 2 up ATV isn't enough power IMO from my experiences with riding two up on a low displacement ATV...and to me when I say 500cc isn't enough power I didn't mean 500cc wouldn't move the ATV, I'm just saying it can't possibly move it very easily with ALL that weight on it and it definitely feels underpowered to me. I know for certain that I'd never buy I 500cc 2 up machine, simply because I hate seeing an engine overworked, carrying that kind of weight all the time would definitely take it's toll!!!! I'm speed/power freak--- a 500cc UTE + 700lbs = boring!!!!

Yeah I'm sure your unsupported opinion is going to help this guy decide what to get...to me people that bash brands with no given reasons mean they are really unhappy with the performance of their own quad and are really crying out for help!!

Just tell me why you think they make junk...and tell a guy with an Outty 800 that he isn't in the running and he'll put your little 660 in it's proper place...the back of the line a good 100 yards behind the Outty 800..and ohh 50yds or so behind the KQ!!

On a ride eariler in the yr i watched a BF750 and the POS BRP800 watch all over the competition in almost any event. Note that the BF and BRP were very close in performce.

You guys pointed out exactly what I was saying

The outty 800 is for nothing other than drag racing so some dude can sling around his Epeen and talk smack. Get that same guy out in some mountians and head from point A to point B where there isn't a groomed trail and I guarantee it won't keep with a Grizz, hell it won't even keep with a Kodiak 450.

I am not bashing brands, BRP is marketing heavy right now and pushing their new lines. They are "new" to the market pushing new quads. So what are they going after? The mass populace, big fat guys that wanna mash the throttle down a groomed straight trail and brag their quad is faster then their friends. They are going after the glory and the headlines and magazine rags and compititions play into this. Now you get one of these fat guys who reads a few magizines and buys the biggest baddest most powerful quad out there off of his perfect conditions (groomed trails) and into some nasty rock infested logged woods and he's a fish outta water.

If I was a big fat city guy with lotsa money and a small Epeen then I would buy the 800 outty too, gotta compensate right?

The dude on the Grizz is gonna spank him in the real world though
