If people can't believe with 99% of the mags are saying then they should take a test ride on the Outlander and see for themselves. If you are still think that a Griz(or anything else) can compete with the Outlander then you are a liar or in complete denial.
My dealer friend owns a large motorsports company so I get to ride everything and personally own all types of machines.
My toybox includes 2006 YZ 450f LE, 2006 Outlander XT 800, 2003 Outty 400, 2005 Gas Gas trials bike, 2001 KX 100, 2006 Ski-Doo MXZ-X 600 SDI and more. (Point: I am not brand loyal)

The Outlander won the mud nationals. (proof of what the visco-lock can do)
The world champion trials rider competes on a Outlander. (again the visco-loc and it's rock crawling abilites)
Many GNCC racers compete on Outlanders and leading the nation in the Stock and Modified classes.
Outlanders have won shootouts in every size category (400,650 and 800).

Prediction: The new 500 Outlander comming out will win that division as well!!!!!

All machines are good today, so choose what machine best suits your needs.

I wish I could take you and your Jelly-lock crotch rocket for a ride in some real conditions and then we'd see.

I never said bomb didnt make the fastest quad out there, what I am saying is it takes more than massive power to ride around in the thick stuffs

toyeboy i wasent attacking you i just said you need to be more informed about the 500 trv i gave "facts" of the bike and did not slam you or any bike out there i gave my opinion and you freaked out let the hate go buddy how many people out there used to ride 2 up on an old honda 250? a 500 has plenty of power without straining the motor going on trail rides i wont race a kq,sportsman, bomb, because my bike was built for trail riding it is made for comfort and that is what it does! to many people think bigger is better when did a 500 become to small? what is the reasoning behind putting a fast engine in a 600+ pound atv this might be why kids get hurt because adults feel the need to do 70mph on a utility bike if you want to compare power try this 185to 249 250 to 349s 350s to 449s 450s to 549s and so forth then look at it as if it was built for sand or trails compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges.

Bomb winning mud nationals... Maybe you didn't see the pit at mud nats but it was based more on the rider than the quad... It was who could ride the straightest water wheelie really. Everybody who is not playing dumb knows the visco locks draw backs and it has quite a few and any nature made hole would exploit them well.

Also the polaris AWD is NOTHING like the visco-lock setup. When you hit 4wd on polaris if the rear wheels slip 20% 4wd engages and its locked and you can't even notice it while the outty will be 3wd until 2-3 full tire revolutions and then it'll start locking the other tire.

My dealer has been dealing with the Bombardier machines since 99 and he went to the two week training course (and being a dealer that works on them) where they were tasked with taking apart a Traxter nut by bolt and back together again. They also studied the Visco-Lok in great detail and he explained to me that the hydraulics involved with that system reacts almost instantly, like 1/4 revolution or less of the slipping wheel, not 2 or 3 revolutions. as some has incorrectly stated. If anyone out there having worked with hydraulic systems will understand this like I did.

Also I asked him about the history on the Visco-LOk with his customers he stated a lot of Rancher/Farmers swear by the Traxters and Quests because they are still running, very strong workhorses with minimal troubles. Alot of them use the Traxters to herd cattle and a few tried the Outlanders for that but while they loved the ride, the machine was to light and a higher center of gravity and found onery cattle could push them over. I guess the Traxter is lower to the ground and harder to tip over..

Why do some people have such a hard time accepting the fact that BRP makes a very good machine????? And these retarded comments about visco lok taking so long to engage -- go drive one, it certainly locks much faster than having to stop and press a button like on the Grizz and then having to stop again to unlock it. You always have real 4 x4 all the time, works perfectly.

Alright I'm sorry I got so defensive. I guess when two people are riding a ute they aren't going to want to go fast anyway. But the reasoning behind putting a big engine in a ute is for such problems I faced with my old 400cc Polaris. Plowing heavy wet snow all winter long with my 400 was becoming an obvious strain on the engine...they recommended to put it in low to plow but there wasn't enough power in low gear for the type of plowing I was doing so i'd have to put it in high gear and I often found myself at full throttle trying to move the snow where I needed it...and I hated having to do that..so that's why I jumped up to the KQ where I knew I'd have enough power. Also the 400 just seemed terribly underpowered to me on the trails..I'm sure the AC's 500cc Suzuki engine is much better though(I think it's built by Suzuki).
