Max is the best ATV for all the stuff you listed. There is no comparison for water use. It will out pull any quad out there and is available from 480cc up to 725cc.

Except for the 400-500cc requirement, I would have suggested a Hummer or Abrams M1A2(19" of ground clearance) And since you specified 4x4, you don't want a max, I guess, it is a 6x6.

If you don't want a limited slip, then you are left with the Polaris models. 400 explorer, 425 Expedition, 500 Magnum and Sportsman. I'm not about to say anything about a Scrambler on the Utility ATVs forum.

I think the Sportsman 500 would be best because the snorkels are VERY HIGH and it has the highest ground clearance of the industry.

Boner the snorkels on the Magnum are jsut as high and also the Amgnum has the same ground clearance, auctually ihgher because when there is weight on the IRS it does "Squat" or lower, sooo i think the magnum is better but i am soo sorried about the Belt because i pull 6000 lbs and the tires take a while to break loose and am wondering if all that strain adn stress isn getting put on the belt? if so im screwed, ill be getting 20 belts a year HAHA
Chris, also what do u tihnk about the new rubicon, because it only engages into 4WD when the rear slips and if i put a locker in it it will be great its auto adn no belt? but im not sure it will have the sportyness of the Magnum, can ya help?

Even with a little suspension squatting, the Sportsman still has more ground clearance than the Mag. We are of course talking of the rear gear housing of the Magnum being the lowest point on the quad (6-7 inches). You can't exactly count ground clearance as frame to ground on a straight axle quad, because when straddling something, the rear end will eventually hit. You would have to have some serious weight on the sportsman to squat it down to the magnum's low point. If the belt slippage is a factor and so is 4wheels pulling, then the Expedition 425 is the narrowing point.

No the Sportsman's Snorkels are higher than all the other Polarises.
