Default Need advice on new Utility ATV

I currently have a 96 Kodiak. I am looking to get a new utility atv. I would like something with 4x4, that is tough, durable and strong. i will be using it for play in the woods and swamps, plus working on my land hauling wood, hunting and plowing in the winter etc..... Can someone give me their advice on what they would recommend? I am very new to ATV's and haven't had my kodiak for long (first ATV). I enjoy it however. Helps fill the gap between snowmobile season. Is a 400 cc enough or should i go bigger. I don't really feel like spending the most money i can, but get something in the middle that will work for what i need. Thanks!!

Hi I have a Polaris Sportsman 500 and a Yamaha Grizzly love them both. Not one bit of trouble from either one They are both 2003 No matter what you get if you are going over some ruff ground get IRS Here in Arizona both quads go over ruff ground I wouldn't think of getting one without IRS

Hello, I am a long time lurker, first time poster.....with that out of the way, I just bought a polaris 500 ho
it is so far a nice machine, I rode it mostly in W.V. in the mountains, through the streams, in the mud and over large rocks, never needed to unleash the full power it has. Smooth ride, I brought it back to NJ to play in the sugar sand now. when I went to the dealer I tried out a couple of other bikes and found the polaris to be the one for me, I suggest you do the same. The new Kodiak 450 does have more CC's than the 400 but to be honest there's no power difference. My wife has a 2003 Kodiak 400 and she can go everywhere I go and I've been though some bad mud, muck and water. She's only been stuck 2 times to my one time and the ebarassing thing is when I was stuck she came in and pulled me out. The 450 is nice only because of the high and low gears, locker and digital instrument cluster. Is that stuff worth the extra money depends on you, it wasn't for me. The 2 times she's been stuck the locker would have pulled her out.
