A pretty nice looking old honda. I traded for it this past weekend and thought everyone might like to see it. It's a 77 xl125 with the original tires.

Finished a restore on a 1982 Maico 490 last season and have not quite gotten the bugs worked out yet. When it hits hard, the front tire lifts every time but I just can't seem to get the jetting right with the new Mikuni.

Updates I have done:
New controls - all of them including compression release
new chain, chain guide, and chain guard
rebuilt front forks
new rear shocks
new tires
new Mikuni 38mm carburetor (can't get the jetting right)
new K&N filter
All new ignition system and kill switch
Painted it - of course, but need to spring for new plastics
new seat pan, foam, and cover - looks very nice

This was never meant to be a showroom restore, but I am kind of proud of the way it turned out - I really just want to ride it and wish the carb was easier to dial in here at 4000 ft +.

Sounds like a neat bike. Do you have any pics of it? Don't give up on that carb, sounds like you're getting close.

I will post some pics later - there are no updated ones right now. Last ones I took the bike had the old, hashed seat and was not very clean.

Thanks, MWQ and aaronrkelly. It's a nice running old bike. I had always wanted one when I was a teen in highschool and happened across it. It's the same year I graduated HS. I'm going to replace the grips and try to find a rh side cover. That cover has been a challenge to find.
