Yea anything the EPA touches turns to crap. But a true "outlaw" down here always had ways to circumvent government regulations on the manufacturers. The EPA just caused the birth of many aftermarket performance companies and products.

My son just received an email from the buyer of the Nighthawk, since he placed the add for me on ebay Very nice guy that bought it and he drove all the way back to San Antonio from here! 5 and a half hrs.. I wouldn't have made one quarter of that distance. They would have had to dig a hole and bury me and the cycle cause I would have been frozen to it... I'm glad he's very pleased with it. My mind wants it back, but the old body says different. Here's his email to my son....

Subject:Re: Nighthawk 750

Greetings, it was a pleasure meeting and chatting with you and your dad. Your dad is truly a Master motorcycle mechanic.................the bike is perfectly tuned and runs fantastically. It performs like a much bigger bike than a 750. My ride back to SA was lots of fun (with the exception of showers in Franklin, Rockdale and Bastrop). My average speed was about 70+ (per GPS) and I got about 44 mpg's.
Thanks for providing such a nice fun bike.

Best regards to you and family.

P.S. at two different gas stops I had guys say, I thought they didn't make Nighthawk's like that anymore......................and I said they don't, this bike is 23 years old.......they thought it was a brand new bike! "

Gonna miss the old bike, but still have the pictures we posted on ebay along with good memories..

Yes he did get a good deal especially as clean as it was for it's age! Not many like it that don't have damage somewhere, like dented tanks, exhausts, corrosion, etc.Even low mileage ones like the one I had. But I did get considerably more for it than I paid for it which does help ease the pain of separation..

Just curious why you didn't pass the bike along to the next generation? I would sell junk but pass the good stuff along to my children.

I agree with the others, it's one beautiful bike and someone got a great deal!

My son didn't want it,he'd already had an SV650 and SV1000 Suzuki and just recently got out of riding himself, plus think it would have been quite awhile for my 8 year old grand daughter to have shown any interest in it,if any.. Better that it went to a good home for someone else to enjoy which I believe it has..

Sometime family won't appreciate as much as a stranger that really wants it any way.... I think you made the right choice.
