Welcome in 20 .... it takes a good group to get a discussion like this going on , all and any information would help all of the group togther .

Bad , Great area there and it seems right now you have the hook up ! Politically included ! We'll be breathing short gasps till friday !

I'm having my insurance agent draw up me a plan for a saftey school for ATV's . I have recently become an instructor and am trying to start up a school for saftey in Our State , as none extists now .

as far as derilicts our on the property some policeing of areas would be in order as in NO DRINKING outside the campground ? thats a major factor in rideing responsibily we'd have to draw up a whole bunch and have them included in the wavier upon entry .

MX, I was thinking the EXACT same thing when I was walking that property today..
The Alcohol is gonna have to stay in the camp. I saw a beer can out on the ground there and it mad me sick. We might make exceptions for a small stretch of beach there for people who want to just lay out in or by the water.. but we could put a can on a post out there to eliminate the temptation to leave any trash..
This place is just breathtaking.. It is a bluff above the Amite River.. a closed sand and gravel pit. Small pines are just starting to get a good foothold.. alot of shade for anybody who tentcamps.. I am just praying I can sell these people. It is non income producing right now, and I hope that I can appeal to their empty pockets.....

I will post as soon as I know something.. One of the possible property owners by a HUGE coincidence called my office yesterday to ask a favor.. I am going to deliver that favor Friday, then ask him about leasing his property.

Cool, and again, ask him as if we were working on a hunting lease.. I am fairly sure that one of us might get lucky and knock a big one down IF we get this lease, tracks ALL over the place. Everybody that I know that leases hunting land uses ATVs, and they all have told me how low that insurance was..
See if he can quote us by number of members plus a 20% guest attendance ratio...

Bad, goodluck with the sells pitch. I think were on the right path for making this happen. Mx, if the property becomes a reality, dont see why you couldnt teach your classes there.

How much of the property is dunes and so on. My group mainly does sand drags. Can you give a ruff estimate of the sand area.

Welcome to the forums 20. Its going to take alot of us to make this happen.

These are the people that make the OHV park book. I'll call them tommorrow and get one sent to me. They seem commited to the sport to making it what we want it to be and what it needs to be: fun but responsible. They will even send out a professional cunsultant to work with people on setting up their park. I dont know if they charge for this, or if we even need them, but I guess its good to know.

Hey all, It is good to see people taking an interest in a safer riding area. I live in MS on the coast so i am not able to go to La dunes often (first trip coming up this week) i might be able to make it about 3-4 times a year. I would be interested in this group you are getting together but the thing is i can't get over therethat often and certainly not enough to help with clean up and meeting and such. What i am getting at is can you set a fee for people like me that live to far away that can't make like a cleanup day. things along that nature. not about the 200-300 a year(is that for a family).Thank you.

I know somebody posted this awhile back but better late than never.LOL You are trying to find out who owns what land. Go to your county....sorry....Capital of your Parrish, where ever the court house is probably. All land ownership is public record. We found this out when trying to ride by a river here. A guy comes out yelling get off his property. The next day I checked it out, it wasn't his, boy that made him mad.LOL

I live in MS, obviously, as well. BUT I travel anytime I can to LA Dunes. If someone had somewhere better I would rather go there. I would pay $200 a year, no problem, for a good place to ride. I am all about a clean, well maintained, no BS stuff kind of place and don't mind paying for it. We are running out of places for sport bikes here, FAST.

The insurance is going to be your biggest hang up, I think. How does the Gov. get away with charging you and not having insurance? Or do they?
