I know gene very well, and all the people at alleman. I will ask him what he thinks and if he has any advice. Pecker, to ride on the red river sand bars, just go to hamels park on clyde fant and turn left in once your in the park, go to the little parking area and you will see a large trail into the woods. My buddy went out there and found a cop sittin in the parking lot, and he asked the cop if it was ok to ride on the sand bar, he said that it is fine, just dont cause problems, drink, or ride in the park and nothing will be said.

Pecker, I love finding new places to ride. But I always seem to end up back at the dunes. There south of Alexandria. Next time I make the trip to Shreveport I will try and meet up with anyone willing. I work and go to School in Lake Charles. But I also have a house in Shreveport and Im there on most weekends when I'm not riding. Keep watching the forum and I will get in touch with you about riding.

Good ideas everyone. Keep the info. coming. Going to start finding out as much as I can about govt. aid for clubs and such.

Forgot to post. Got the Sand Yacht up and running today. Only took 2months to heal myself and the bike. Now if I can just remember where the clutch is on this thing I will be set!

I went home last night and was discussing the deal with my wife and we came up with the fact that this year I have spent Well over $500 Dollars going to the Dunes....2 or 3 hundred Dollars would be cool with me.

I know you are trying to keep it located down south but what about the sand pit over in Minden La.Semi-large/small riding area, there are (2) of them ,you can ride between the 2.Not sure who owns the land, but it can't be that hard to find out.Hey Highlifter700 ready to race the new and improved HPD 400?This is jason's friend,I was at Allemans when you two raced .Should have it back together soon.I'M in for some kind of riding area with a small fee.Oh yeah,by the way I'm in the S'Port/Bossier area.

Keep the ideas coming in on riding areas. Not sure what everyone thinks about where they would like to have the new area, But we will not rule any areas available out. I cant wait to get my chance at Highlifter. We need to race.

Just spoke with Scott Brame and he said he did not own the land however he represents a bunch of timber companies and large land owners in that area....So if we can find out he would def. put in a good word.

I believe this land is now owned by Madden Construction. They have an office there on Hwy 7. I won't get my hopes up but that would be a cool place. Besides lots of sand, there are wooded trails and some really good swimming holes with cool clean water. You ought to go ask anyway, he may not realize how many dollars something like this could bring in.

Ok, guys, I made a visit to a spot today.. I am not bs ing any of you..

PARADISE.

1 mile wide, 5 miles long. La Dunes in comparison might be 3/4 by 3/4 wide. Pinewoods, mud sand gravel and HILLS, as well as a knee deep river. I have calls into EVERYBODY. I am going see the local sheriff there Friday, who I heard may own alot of this property. There were trespassers there today, so I tiptoed around them as I was alone and on foot. I have contacted everybody I know there that may be connected politically as well. I just need to be prepared when they ask me questions about insurance.. I dont "think" that any of these people I am trying to see about this would jive with a commercial establishment like LA Dunes, but they may very well be cool with leasing it to us in a "hunting club" type scenario. The only issue with that is, that ANYBODY that goes to this place is going to fall in love with it, and more and more of their friends will want to come too.. I have to figure out how to handle guests and increasing numbers..

I may present a LA Dunes type scenario to them as well. This place is 10x better than the Dunes, and it would be a sure money maker.. That may make it actually easier for many of the people on here that cant come almost every weekend. This place could handle 500+ bikes with plenty of room, and it would be a sure boom to the local economy there, but I dont want to get into a situation like Barney is.. where the sheer numbers have burned him out. I have a great job, and my weekends are open, but I wouldnt want to have to babysit all weekend like Barney does. I would almost rather have a great, family type club with some great terrain, than make a lot of money. Therefore, how would the club handle removing rule violators? There are alot of tough issues when you get more than 20-40 people involved, especially if they are strangers..

Just some thoughts... I will let yall know how the search progresses.
