Yeah, I don't think the 4 times a year will last once they get hooked. Like I said, Dad used to race cars, so I am betting it won't take long for him to be sucked into this sport. I am thinking I won't have a hard time talking them into heading to the Oregon dunes either. I gotta get back down there sometime. The bigger the group, the more fun.
Thanks for the suggestions, I was wondering about the clutch thing. Now where's the best place/places to start shopping? Dealerships don't seem to be the way to go, at least I wouldn't think, not for used anyway. Any suggestions on sites/publications to start reading through?

Both are semi auto 5 speed with no clutch and they both have reverse. The Honda 300Ex has a clutch so is harder to learn. They want to ride only 4 times a year? HAHAHAHAHAHA That thought won't last even as long as their first ride!I myself of course would recommend Honda, a biased opinion, but they are bullet proof. My wife has a 250ex and it works great for her although it is a little underpowered in the dunes. She still has fun on it though.

I'd stick w/ the 250ex or Z250 also no clutch BUT if they want to learn w/ a clutch I'd go w/ a 300ex for the smaller ones they can put the throttle limiter in also if they can shift & kick start might wanna look for a gently used 250X(same as a 300 but a kicker) you can find those for around $1000 or cheaper
Tell them good luck rididng ONLY 4 times a year HAHAHAHA
Windude,
I think I remember you saying you have been looking for a trailer for your quads. I pm'd you an ad I saw in the Little Nickel. Just in case you are still looking.
If it wasn't you, then nevermind...

As far as looking for a family bike, Peyton, my 8 year old would not be able to ride the 250. She is still tryin to get use to the 160. The 250 is much to big for her, not just speed, but overall size. And remember, she is a big girl for her age.

I've been hanging w/nwcutie and her boys for a couple years,
Ricky, who is a large 5 is riding the trx90. we start him off in 2nd gear and he hasn't figure out shifting yeat.
Michael, who is now 13 and sprouting like a week, started 2 tears ago on the trx90 and is now riding the trx250 (and seems to be able to handle the trx400 on the dunes)
you've met me and I'm a big guy, and I've ridden the 250 at the dunes. I can have fun on it, but I've been on the larger quads and know better

Good morning PSAR, friends and guests.
Well a funny thing happened on my way to the Legisalture, I got laryngitis last Friday. Imagine a lobbyist who can't talk (at least for a week or so). It's a legislator's dream. So, I've been ardently lobbying by e-mail. My biggest bill of the year is up for a committee hearing today. That should be an interesting experience. Me sitting quietly in front of the committee while someone else gives my testimony. Quiet is not my strongest character trait!
The hardest part is communicating with my wife. We have a system down where she leaves a voicemail and I text message back to her. My office manager loves it, too. She says the office has been so much quieter and more relaxing since I was banned from talking.
My new front frame arrived yesterday from my E-bay purchase. It took a few weeks to work out the details with the seller, but it was a heck of a deal. I saved over $80 compared to buying a new one. I plan to install it this weekend. My brother should be bringing up my new Warn bumper and trail lights on Saturday as well. He took a job with Warn last year and family members get the employee discount. I knew there was a reason I loved my brother and always had faith that some day he would make good. This summer, I'm getting the winch and the sky's the limit after that. I just need to space out the purchases so as not to freak out my wife.
