Hi guys aint had much time for yacking with all the deadlines comming on me to get the 2 bikes ready!!! Thanks for well wishing for Cat she is doing a little better!!! Wow, what a beautiful day to go riding. I may have to throw the 450 in the Toyota and head for the hills

 

There be snow on them there mountains!! Lots of snow! Looks to be thin below 2800 feet though.

 

i told you folks i'd bring a report about the races at goldendale, it's just taken me longer than expected... but what doesn't?
anywhoo..
took off friday night, late. got to the track about 2:00 AM the road in had a rope across it & there was a line of RV's & rigs stopped in on the road... so we waited like everyone else, & slept in the truck (kinda). 6 am wake up & go in, it was sprinkling & raining most if the night... so the track was wet & muddy in spots, really rough.
the race went well, i got arm pump really bad that didn't go away & i slowed down some... I ended up with 5th place in amature class, my brother took 2nd in beginner saturday. washing only took an hour or so... b/c we were cold & wet, we decided to pony up for a motel room. it continued to rain off & on through the day & night.
sunday's race we were expecting a mud fest, they cut out the MX track due to the mud. i got out of the gate to a fair start... 3rd in my class i think. then on one of the hairpin turns i slid over a berm & stalled it due to teh mud... then the rest of the riders pass me. later that lap i hear a funny noise as i start to finish the 2nd lap, the brace for my right side rear fender had broken, fallen down & was rubbing on the tire. i stopped to get it pulled out of the way so i could finish. the rest of the race was uneventful for me, i finished 6th. on his 2nd lap, my brother drowned out his motor in a puddle, causing him to DNF... no airbox, bad idea at a mud race.

on a side note, my brother's girlfriend drove out to hang out & see the sunday race. about 20 miles south of toppenish, she hit a big rock with her car. it ripped the drain pug out of the oil pan. she hitched a ride & met us at the hotel. sunday we took her home & set up a tow to get her car back...

i'm already looking forward to the starvation ridge race on april 9th & 10th, hopefully no mud this time. anyone else want to go??

 

OK, so Evans Creak Camp Ground is not open til 4/15/05 for camping. We
will still go for the day ride on the 9th. Remember, ALL trucks and cars MUST HAVE a Northwest Forest Pass even for day riding. They are $5 for a day or $30 anually. I do believe I have a extra one, so if someone needs it, let me know. I can bring out and meet you there. PM me if you need to know where to get one. There is a little gas station/quicky mart at the bottom that sells them, or GI Joes.

There is a rally in Olympia concerning off roading at noon. The title is "If not there, Where?" Referring to the Thurston ORV park and other places. I am going to attend. Anybody else? The group I'm going with is meeting in Shelton for breakfast a Denny's at 9 AM, or Fred Meyer parking lot at 10AM or the Capitol Mall in Olympia near J.C. Pennys at 10:30.
