OK, I have a dumb question. Is it worth the drive to Sand Lakes or should you just go all the way to Florence. Don't know if I want to drive that far this weekend or should I just go to Moses (very HOT). Having never been to the Oregon coast, I could use some help. Do I need reservations for Sand Lake, I know you do for Florence ??

As far as permits I know for the rest of the Oregon dunes you buy your day pass or 1 week pass at the machine in the staging area and your good to go. 1 day 5.00 1 week 10.00 If you have any specific Sand Lake questions got to SandLakeduners.com and they can answer any questions you might have.

Ok, so I am starting to get the itch to pickup a new quad. Don't know that I will, but maybe. Considering it will probably be another 5 years until Suzuki gets off it's backside and gets a 450 out(besides, I will eventually just bump my z400 up to a z440 and hang onto it), I am looking at the '06 YF450Z because I like having reverse. However, reading about the 700r, what's the diff? I mean I can read technical stuff until I go crosseyed, but really, I know there isn't a straight comparison. Just because the 700r has more cc's, doesn't necessarily mean it's the more powerful quad. Also, I could go look it up, but does the Honda 450r have reverse finally? Brand wars aside, opinions?
Oh yeah, and I saw they are coming out with an '06 450 wolverine. Was thinking that might be a good multipurpose quad to get.

His buddy Sig works at that shop. By the golf coarse.
Hey Freddy Bear,
I saw the paper and read it..........
WingyDingyDude,
Once you go to Sand Lake, you won't go back to Moses

IMO that is, I'd much rather make the drive to Florence.....
But, the bottom line is that wherever you go, you will be riding
Either place will be hard to get a camping spot on the weekend......
Advantage goes to Sand Lake though, because you may be able to get a camping spot in the parking lot.
I'm not sure what Florence has for first come first serve.
I'm "pretty sure" you could get a spot at Driftwood at Florence if you just show up,
but I also wouldn't count on that, cause you never know. There were many spots the weekend we went, and the guy told us there is usually a few spots. But of course the time I would try that, there wouldn't be any.
We made it to Florence in 5 - 5-1/2 hours drive time

Tell your boss it isn't fatal but needs one day of rest to make it go away.

Tom's shop is by the hospital. If you make a left at the school, (instead of going to the farm) up to Highland, turn right. at the substation turn left, he is the second or third drive on the left. Large red dodge with RPM signs in the all asphalt drive, shop sets back from garage on the left, entry door on the left side as well. Let him know who who are, and that Bobby is your bro-in law. Ask Bobby about his prices. He is very fair for the work he does.
If you are after plates like Brandons on the fiddy, tell him that up front.
Thanks for the directions Bill
I WOULD ask Bobby what he charged but I can't get a straight answer out of ANYONE so whatever I'll go get my OWN deals like I've always done for the boys!!!!!!! We wants # plates w/ the boys' name/numer on them

Hi everyone! Well, the way you all have been running out and getting new toys this year has been making me drool, so I went out and got another pickup too!
BUT, since I am simply a lowly, small-salaried person with expensive children , the new pick up is still classified as "yard art"
However, one day it shall be unbelievably cool. And it should be ready to drive by the time Michael gets his license

Oh, COOL FUN THING TO DO alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saturday, August 27th is the LeMay open house. Once a year, the LeMay family opens it doors to the public. They have the world's record for the largest car collection! It's in the Parkland area, not too far off 512 right off Pacific Ave.
LeMay Museum Car Show
Legend has it that while amassing the largest privately owned collection of vehicles in the world, Harold E. LeMay sold only five cars in his lifetime — and bought three of them back.
The annual LeMay Museum Car Show on Saturday, Aug. 27 will feature 750 vintage, classic and specialty cars and a display of exotic race cars from collectors around the Northwest at the LeMay family estate in Tacoma as well as the ongoing exhibit of more than 400 cars at the LeMay Car Museum, 423 E. 152nd St., Tacoma.
While building a prosperous regional hauling and disposal businesses from the 1930s until his death in 2000, LeMay pursued his passion for collecting and preserving automobiles, motorcycles, trucks and related memorabilia reflecting the history of the automobile in the United States.
The collection spans all eras and includes Ford Model T's and other early cars; numerous foreign cars; American makes including Chevrolets, Buicks, Pontiacs, Chryslers and Fords; and "orphan" cars including Edsels, Hudsons, Kaisers and a Tucker. Plans are under way to build a new Harold E. LeMay Museum in downtown Tacoma that will showcase 250 cars with viewable storage of up to 2,000 more, along with retail areas and a courtyard and clubhouse for car clubs and car shows, auctions and rallies.
Guided two-hour tours of the LeMay Car Museum are available from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays for $5-$15, by appointment.
Advance tickets to the Aug. 27 event can be ordered by phone or purchased on the day of the event for $10 per person, $20 for a family of four and $5 for those 11 and younger and active military. Tickets include free shuttle service between the two venues. For information and tickets, call 253-536-2885 or see www.lemaymuseum.org.
I'll be there showing my Pontiac.
Last year it was very cool!
