Dang, Larry, I just got back to ol' computer today to read your news. I feel terrible for you. I had a brand new three - wheeler stolen out of my garage back in '86, and I felt like killing someone. The only good thing about my ordeal is the cops caught the little #@$%^ that stole it and trashed it. At least you had insurance to cover your loss. Like you said, It's just a material possesion, but sometimes that's not much consolation! Good luck, bud.

 

It was found at 28th and Walker, near Coleman Park, in the parking lot of some tennis club (tennis club in Rainier Valley?), it was sitting on it undercarriage, (of course the wheels were gone) still running, they put alittle over 200 miles on it. The sadest thing is the wd-40 was sprayed and soaked in the headliner, seats and carpet, I was told they do that so no prints can be pulled, they did leave one item behind, a hammer, that'll go to the Police today, maybe they can lift some prints from it, but like the officer said, because it was open and running, anybody could have gotten in and touched things so they can't put the finger on anybody. Bottom line is nobody will be arrested, case closed, the truck was recovered.

Oh, by the way, we won't be making the Beverly trip in September

Tacoma RV is also holding our trailer for 30 days until we decide what we're going to do, at that point, if we decide to go another route with our camping rig, they'll refund our deposit in full, they are a great place to do business with. The owner, her name is LaDonna, is a quader, (Suzuki 400's) she was telling me how they just got back from Florence and how much we would like it. Quaders are the best and on a side note, Great American RV Suxs, would only come down $1,500 on a $34,000 toyhauler, from MSRP, give me a break, I'll never do business with them again.

Good and bad news that they recovered your truck. With that kind of damage it would be better if they totaled your truck. Usually needs to be 60% cost of damage to value of truck. Go to the impound yard and yank the wiring harness out of it. That will total it for sure[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img].
Yea, nobody will be arrested. Probably wouldn't have been anyway. With the value of the vehicles these days, car theft should be a felony. If a person steals $50,000.00 isn't it a felony? That's what a new truck costs these days! Put these scum bags away for 5-10 and watch the car theft rate drop. Maybe auto insurance premiums too. Nah, that will never happen.

Wingdude, Are you still planning on going to Moses this weekend?

It looks like the "all guys camping trip" didn't go together as planned because woman are going now. So i have to work for 4 hours on SAturday and then i'm driving over by myself. The only thing i'm worried about is Justin's truck's tranny has been acting up and I'm not sure if he is going to make it there and back in one piece. He's not taking the camper so it will be a little lighter load there. He is putting my quad in the back of his truck and pulling a trailer with his cruizer on the back. If he does make it over there and has problems on the way back, which i know he will. His buddy will pull the cruizer and i will pull the jetski's and Justin won't have anything. I will keep an eye out for you guys!! What kind of camping trailer do you guys have?

Morning PSAR! AFter hearong bout the truck I feel like we should be listening to taps.

That is because the very first time his tranny start acting up we were coming home from Wenatchee. We had the camper on while pulling the jetski's. The tranny was reading 230 degrees, (it usually reads 160-170) when we pulled into Leavenworth. We pulled over checked the fluids and they were good. So we started up Hwy 2 from Leavenworth and we only had 1 and 2nd gear. 40 miles an hour all the way to the top, where the tranny finally shifted into drive. Then acouple of weeks ago, we went up to Camano Island with just the camper. No BIG hills from our house to CAmano. The tranny was reading just over 200 degrees. So that is why i think he will have a problem. I'm hoping i'm wrong but my gut instinct is telling me something different.

If he does break down, he will get his buddy to come over with a low boy to bring his truck home. But we will try everything to get his truck home in one piece. Like i said worse comes to worse i can pull the jetski's, his friend can pull the trailer with the cruizer and Justin will just have my quad in the back of his truck to make it a lighter load.

And No i wouldn't let Justin walk home. I'm a good G/f, well sometimes. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Forgot to add that he wants to make sure the tranny is BROKE when he takes it in. He doesn't want them to "fix" it he wants them to "replace" it. Its under warranty too.

Been awhile. I've been lurking though!

Larry and Val, I'm so sorry to hear about your beautiful truck.

You know it could never happen when you want that stuff to happen....you know being $20K upside down in a beater truck you want to get rid of....leave the dang keys in it they still won't steal it! Only the stuff you really want/like!

I'm really sorry, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for a total. I would argue it if I were you. You never know what they've done to the hidden stuff (engine, tranny, diffs). It would suck to have it put back to pretty on the outside and then have to spend the next years fighting the inside problems.

My dealings with insurance company's....you have to stand your ground. Do your research, make sure that you are an educated consumer and ARGUE ARGUE ARGUE, if need be. It took me almost a month of arguing, but when my old car was totaled, I finally got a good price, but the insurance made me prove that I could find others in my area that sold for the higher$$. So stick it out and stand up for yourself.

We got all the good news on our little one yesterday. She's all okay and healthy, so we are very excited! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
