We just got back from Jawbone/Dove Springs, and I wasn't particularly impressed! Just a lot of whooped out sandy fire roads. From a distance, at least the Rand Mountains look a lot more promising.

Where are you going to stage from, and where you going to ride to?????

If my parts come this week I wanna go. Let us locals know where you want to meet. Do you plan to ride into Randsburg?

I was out there 3 weeks ago. I found a pretty gnarley trail that the 4x4 quads need to tackle. Personally I chickened out on this trail

Chris, you'll have to show me this 4X4 trail. I've got a winch and tow strap. I'll pull you through.

I believe we may stage just off trail ep/rm 15. It is near a area they call football field. It is just east of 395 hwy. Or just east of the observation tower. When we were there a couple of weeks ago we stopped at the jawbone canyon info booth and they have a map availible for 2.00. Its seem pretty acurate from what I remember.

This is a great map!! Covers the whole of eastern Kern County, and beyond!!

www.jawbone.org

I see EP/RM15 crossing 395 about half way between the Garlock Rd. and Searles Station Rd. turnoffs. The radar dome is shown on the map, and is nearby, to the northwest. This the palce you mean??? (Just a technicality, but this really isn't the Rand Mountains. They are the area southwest of Randsburg, extending down toward Calif. City). Where you going to ride to???? You going to ride the east side of 395, or the west side???

Recon, probably both sides of the road. The east side has a lot of whoops, and frankly I am whooped out after last weekend. I like hills and trails I think we may hit more of that this time. You got email I send you a pic of the hill that scared me!!!!!!!!
