Thursday April 1st we cant ride ditches anymore until August 1st. that blows. Anyone know if you get a ticket for still driving in the ditch out of season?

 

Yup, DNR got me and my kid last year, 95 bucks, you'd think we were killing someone !!! ( see my reply to this under another MN ditch riding topic from last month) My son and I went out Friday, rode all the way to town and back (10 miles), nice riding, completely cleared one field approach and scared my son half to death, seeing that Wolverine up in the air that far !! anyone who has read my responses to this in the past know how I feel about the particulars of this law ( no riding, but the farmers are welcome to mow and bale it, real good for the nesting birds ATV's are supposedly disturbing ) so I won't whine a big paragraph here. Yes the fine is there, and they WILL get you !!!

 

Always hated this law.
I rode a lot of ditches last year before i knew about the law.
Guess I was lucky.

 

Just remember, this is only an " agricultural zone " law, north of St Cloud past Hwy 10, it is legal to ride ditches all year round.

 

That sucks, It also sucks that we cant do anything about it. I remember August 1st when me and my buddys jumped in the ditches and rode. this year there will be more of us. 3 new friends just got quads.
i think these will break in the ditches just fine when August Rolls around

that's why I live in the country. I know my cops schedule, one comes around every day at 6:30pm, too far out to have more[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]. Too much area too little time

 

Yeah, Cops aren't too bad around here. I pass when they are going opposite directions them when im crossing streets heading out of town sometimes. Advantage of a small town.

 

It doesnt bother me that much because we have 80 acres to ride on...yeah and we try to follow the laws because if we dont my dad will hear about it from the DNR officer when he brings his truck in to get serviced [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

 

I live in monticello, where's the nearest place I can ride legally?? North of St. Cloud? Preferrably state land or something, not ditch banging. Anybody???
