Anyone know any good riding areas in the Sarasota / Myakka River area? I live in South Florida but my parents live right outside the Myakka River State park and they say they always see ATV's in the area.

I live in North Port which is right outside Venice. I ride in the north port Estates and off yorkshire road in north port.

Along with hundreds of others i see out there. If ya wanna take a short trip contact me and well get together,

DRAGGING UP THIS OLD THREAD.

Now that both places are closed to the terrible ATVer's(a newsflash to me), where is there to ride? I live in sarasota, and was hoping to ride in North Port but... Now I'm thinking maybe ATV's are not such a good idea. I am really at a loss here...no friggin place to ride! Help me out guys.

 

My son lives in North Port, Florida He and his friends ride a a place called River Ranch.
I havent been there but it is in the North Port/ Venice area

river ranch in no where near North Port! its like 4 hours North.. as far as riding around here, its all ride and evade. Freaken North Port would rather spend the money chasing down atv'rs then trying to make a Legal place to ride??? go figure, I guess instead of riding my ATV ill take up selling drugs, they seem not to care about that around here.. and I sure could use the $$$ [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

Croom ATV area is only 2hrs from North Port so you could be there in less time than that.
A state sticker to ride is $45 a year web sight for info :

Ocala National Forest Has three riding areas the south one is closed except for the power line but the centeral and north areas are open. ONF is 3 hrs from you no cost to ride get maps and info at web sight:

PS The closed area is 8,000 + Acres they are putting in marked trailes , sign, ect for a big ATV riding area completion date ???
