CALIFORNIA Quad Riders report here.....

Brodie - We'll have to check out Glamis sometime before Summer. Yes, you do have a long haul from Hanford . . . my husband has to work up there a few times a year at the military base and stays in Hanford while he's there.
We did go to Ocotillo Wells this weekend. The weather was beautiful - not too hot and no wind. My son brought a quadless friend, and I felt bad and let him ride mine so I barely got to ride, but it was still nice. I just hung out with the dogs most of the time.
No riding next weekend, but the weekend after that we're supposed to go to a place called "Red Rocks"(?) Never been there before but heard it's nice. If none of the other guys' wives are going (they're a bunch of party poopers anyway - don't like "dirt" and don't ride either), I may just stay home and let the guys go. Our other group of friends who all ride have been a bunch of flakes lately - haven't been going out.

I wanted to go riding this past weekend but never made it out. I was a little tired..
Good news though! Gorman is now open but is limited riding still. They have some awesome pics of Gorman covered in snow and the huge sink holes and ruts there! Here is the link
Link to Gorman pics and info
My uncle is supposed to get his toy hauler this week (they have been delaying him for the past 2-3 months...Getting ridiculous!) and we are going to go up to either Gorman or Stoddard Valley for the weekend.

Actually, I heard Karen is a soon to be PRO Except, she still is trying to master her technique
Mental note: Neighbors haven't parked their car in the driveway since.....
Damage estimate: Unknown at this time and looking for a good bodyman in Dublin... haha!

Karyn, I speak the truth. Remember, I got video. Maybe I'll just rip the audio track. The only good part about the video is 6". It's actually nice and clear though.
Karyn's link is trashed: ClubATVWest.com
That site links to everything over on MSN. ick.

Hi ladyjade. what kind of quad are you looking for? If you are on a tight budget, I would check into a 400EX. They are ALOT cheaper than a Kawasaki KFX400 and Suzuki LT400Z. They offer plenty of torque and accel. I am 15 years old and I found my quad on ebay right here in Escondido. 20 hours on the engine, never abused, and came with brand new sand sharkII paddles with ITP rims and renewed green sticker till 2006 for $3600. I was lucky searching on ebay but look in your local cycle trader and you might just find a steal! Im always looking for riding buddies, is your son really into offroading? 400EXGuy: We're all new to ATV riding so our experience level is beginner. The idea of a quad didn't even exist when I rode ATC's 20 years ago. You sound like a pretty experienced rider. How long have you been riding? Where and how often do you go? Is there any place within a half hour drive around here? Thanks for the info about what to consider for our next quad! I'll take all the suggestions I can get.

We enjoyed our time with ya'll, can't wait to do it again. We are not set up for camping YET, but when ya'll go to carnegie or hollister let us know, we will do our best to be there for the day anyhow. When and where exactly is the upcoming Sierra trip? We might do that too, my mom-in-law lives just out of Reno. So, we might be able to hook up for the day and then camp at her house, then see ya'll in the morning if the logistics are good.

I'v been riding about 2 2½ years now and I like to think im pretty good at quading(usally in last gear at redline). I go to Ocotillo Wells SVRA about 95% of the time and Glamis. We try to get out about 2 times a month. There used public property a few miles north are place, but there putting a school there (@#%*). I dont think there are places near San Marcos and or Escondido. There are plenty of places to go offroading in Temecula and Lake elsinore. Which route do you guys take to get to Ocotillo Wells? Through Julian or Valley center past lake Henshaw? P.S. I like the 400EX because it has great gas milage for the power it gives out. 2strokes cough out smog and dont do so great inless there light and small engined. Were actually were going to ocotill the 28th
