The tompston damn is strickley for dirt bikes. It is something to do with the army core or something that opened it up. Also there is a nice sandpit in cromwell over by the river highlands where they have the new bucik open. Many people park at kemlawn in portland and there is a trail on the oppisit side of the road leading into it. Be carfull for the popo and if they come run like hell. U can follow the train tracks away from the sand pit and go to the penisulla but do not rip up the golf course.

I have been out to Thomaston Dam and there's a big sign at the entrance DIRT BIKES only. It's sucks, but that is the way it goes in this State. If you guys aren't to far from The New London area I have a few places to ride that are really good. None are legal, but so far the dep hasn't been an issue.

If you don't mind driving just over the border, there are places up RT 8 in MA that you can ride, and it is legal. I live in Derby, CT and it is about a 1 - 1.5 hour drive. Tolland State Forest.
You need to register in MA. When you do, you will have access to all of their state forest trails.
On RT 8 in MA, you will see a pull off and the entrance. Most likely, you will see a lot of trucks with trailers. From what I hear, it is pretty good. Not race tracks or anything but really good trails.
