Check out this link. They have a Kids track that should not be too busy this time of year.

For the kids, I like Sterling Canyon campground. There are some trails that run around the camp, and some open areas where they can ride while you sit in camp and keep an eye on them. It should be nice! After all this rain, the creeks should all have lots of water in them. There are (relatively!) nice pit toilets.

Be sure you are no louder than 96dB, have a flag, and spark arrestor!

I like El Mirage for the kids.Camp on the edge and you can see them ride from camp ,not much for them to run into, but its under water now.

El Mirage is just west of Adelanto/ Victorville off the 395.
If you let me know where you are coming from I can give you more direct directions

The only bummer about El Mirage right now is that they have the main entrance closed off on the eastern side of the lake bed where all the good hilly trail riding is. You have go in at the other entrance, which is off of a long dirt road. The detour sign at the main entrance doesn't do a good job of telling you how to get to the other entrance either . . . we basically had to guess and take our chances, but we finally found it. I think road work they're doing is going to last for a few more months too. We're not going back until they're done, as we like that end of the lake much better, and it's too hard to get to from the other entrance with our RV.

Also, at El Mirage, make SURE you have plenty of tire plug kits and cans of Fix-a-flat (inflators) with you. The rocks are very sharp there. The last group ride we did there three weeks ago, four of us got flats!

Hungry Valley is still our favorite place to ride. There's a lot of places for little kids to ride there, and yes, the kids track is pretty cool - your kids will love it! Where that's at is one of the nicer campgrounds too . . . more trees than some of the others. All the campgrounds have little open beam structures with picnic benches and fire pits. The only annoying thing we run into there are people who use those loud @$$ cheap generators, and sometimes the loud all-night partiers. You just have to carefully check out who you're camping next to first.
